Hello Returning and New Sea Otters Families,
While we’re all dealing with a crazy amount of uncertainty right now, your Sea Otters Board is moving ahead with all of our plans for the 2020 Season. We understand things are fluid and may change, but our intention, along with our League, is to move toward an amazing Season. Our registration opens tomorrow (see details below), and we’re excited to get things rolling.
You’ll notice we’ve extended the registration deadline through April 10th. If, for some reason, the current COVID-19 restrictions are extended, the League will make a decision about the Season. If we have to cancel the 2020 Season (which none of us hope will happen), your registration fees will be refunded. This is explained in the registration portal.
If you are aware of a new family who is not yet on our distribution list, please forward this email to them, and be sure to have them check the team website and Facebook page.
This season, we are announcing the Sea Otters Spirit/Team Shirt Design Contest. Swimmers can submit design entries for a chance to be selected as the printed design on the back of our team shirt, this year. Please find the contest design form attached. Contest details are also included in our registration process, on the team Facebook page, and the team website. Keep in mind, the design entries deadline is April 3rd.
Due to the new COVID-19 restrictions, we’ve made some adjustments to the calendar, as it stands. Please use the new Looking Ahead calendar, attached, but please remember, additional changes may be made.
Whether you're a returning family or new family joining our team, the registration process is simple and takes only a few minutes. Just click on this
link and you'll be brought directly to the registration page on our team's website, where you will login to your existing account, if you're a returning family, or you'll create a new account, if you're new to the team in 2020. You will be requested to pay during the last step of the registration process. At the conclusion of the registration process, you will need to sign up for your team volunteer shifts. This is a required part of registration this year. Please find the Santa Teresa Sea Otters Volunteer Policy here.
To sign-up for your volunteer shifts, after you've registered your swimmer(s) go to http://www.stseaotters.com/ and login to your account. From there you can select the Events & Competition section on the left navigation menu. Then under Calendar, select the Team Events option. This should bring you to a page with a list of all our meets and events (excluding Champs). Click on the green Job Signup button for the event or meet you are signing up for and select the shift(s) you would like to work. If you have any questions during this process you can email Alicia LaMarche and Allison Rice at volunteers.stseaotters@gmail.com and they will get back to you as soon as they can.
Once you have registered your swimmer(s) and signed up for volunteer shifts, team admin approval should happen within two weeks. If you have questions about registration, please contact Jenn Fusilero at reg.stseaotters@gmail.com.
We look forward to having you be part of our incredible swim team.
