Congratulations Sea Otters! 2018 Dual Meet and Cabana League Champions
Once again the Santa Teresa Sea Otters, under our amazing Coaching staff of Les Greenwood, Joey Wycoff, Maria Higginbotham and Enrique Munguia, demonstrated their grace, power and teamwork, by winning both the 2018 Dual Meet and Cabana League Championships! We are now seven-time Dual Meet Champions and five-time Cabana League Champs!!
We had much to celebrate at our Awards Night - each swimmer received a trophy and many swimmers received ribbons and medals from CHAMPS. Awards in each age group were given for Most Improved, 2nd High Point and High Point for the Dual Meet season.
Sea Otter swimmers Kyle Pfeifer and Ashley Nguyen were awarded team MVP, having earned the most points for girls and boys, over the dual meet season. Andrew Crabtree and Savannah Zuanich received the Coaches Award for being the girl and boy who best exemplify Sea Otter Spirit!
Congratulations to Lucas Chavez Meyles, Ethan Fusilero, Jarrett Hampel, Katie Jacopi, Bryant Luu, Samantha Sousa, Alexander Truong, McKenna Valenta, Mia White and Savannah Zuanich for setting Sea Otter or League records at the Championship meet.
The Sea Otters also said good-bye to Senior swimmers Tara Hampel, Maria Higginbotham, Katie Jacopi and Bryant Luu who also all earned their Lifetime Achievement Clocks for swimming on the team for seven or more years.
The Sea Otters also want to recognize our four Tom Ruzsa Volunteer of the Year nominees – Kevin Coelho, Angela Govig, Tiffany Nyberg and Cassie Vickers – with Angela and Tiffany receiving the tied honor as Volunteers of the Year this season. Thank you all for going above and beyond what it means to support our team and community. We also want to thank all the parents, coaches, community members, and the Rancho Board for your continued support of our neighborhood swim team! We are excited for our future and appreciate all of you.
