Seniors Group Meeting - New

Come one come all Seniors! Every Friday at 10:00 am the Seniors are going to meet at the club. The coffee will be hot! On Jan. 20, we played Mexican Train and cards Games. Hope to see you there! It is our club, lets use it.

Dues Increase Notice

Happy New Year!!!

It is January 2012; all the holiday festivities are all over. I hope that the gifts you received for Christmas fit, all the holiday meals did not add any pounds to your waist line and you are ready to start out the New Year with new enthusiasm! The time for keeping New Year’s resolutions is upon us. I wish everyone good luck achieving their goals!

As we move forward at the Club this year, we are in good financial shape. We just need to maintain our conservative approach to finances and make every penny count. In the near future, you will see the Arbor at the Pool Entry being torn down. This is a Trower project that was identified in the 2012 Trower Report. The wood over head is rotten. Speaking of the Trower Report, we are required every three years to have an independent auditor review our facilities and this will take place this year. So early this spring, we will conduct this review. We have also started a Concrete Project Committee. They are evaluating the Concrete Project Plans. After 40 some years we have concrete around the Pool that is in bad shape. A few Pool Lights around the Pool do not work. Conduit under the concrete is corroded or collapsed. As a result, to replace the Pool Lights we need to replace the light, wiring, conduit and concrete above the conduit.

We just requested an Energy Audit from PG&E. This is a free service. We hope to find ways to reduce our energy cost with this audit. One change may be to put the Security lights on a different circuit and at a lower rate. This however, will have to be weighed with cost of the meter and changes in circuitry. We are also going to research the cost of Solar Energy this year.

I am excited to help kick start some fun activities for the Seniors in our neighborhood. We have this wonderful club house that is just anxious to see some old familiar faces again. Please join me on Monday January 9th @ 10am in the Lounge and bring some ideas of what YOU would like to see happen at your clubhouse. Bring your neighbor with you too! We’ll have light refreshments served. I would love for this group to get together at least once a month, if not more.
